Prizren

Prizren is a city in southern Kosovo, it is on the banks of the river with the same name, at the foothills of Sharr Mountains.

Prizren is designated as the Cultural Capital of New Born country of Kosovo, it is a unique museum city, with Ottoman architecture and influence that can be felt at every corner of the city. Prizren and its Fortress has been inhabited since at least bronze age.

Prizren attracts tourists all year round with its architecture, cultural and historical sites, mosques, traditional restaurants, Fortress etc. During winter visitors go to the mountains in Prevalle and go for skiing, while in summer it is a great idea for holidays in cooler climate.

If you walk by the markets and restaurants you will notice that locals love meat in this city, with ‘suxhuk’ being a specialty in Prizren. Eat a ‘byrek’ , ‘qebap’ , pleskavica, at one of the coffee restaurant by the river.

Another interesting location is ‘The Stone Bridge’ , this 15th century bridge is among the perfect places for taking photos in Prizren. Walk through the Old Town of Prizren and look at the local shops , buy souvenirs or bracelets and other stuff. Prizren is noted for its Gold Market with many shops selling Gold accessories. Enjoy traditional foods at one of the restaurants by the river. Take a trip to nearby Prevalle and its attractive mountains.

Museum city of Prizren has a distance of 177 km from Tirana, while it takes less than 3 hours to arrive in this city.

You can travel by bus/minibus service, there are buses and minibuses that operate this route on a daily basis. It is more recommended to travel by car or as part of a guided tour in Prizren.
